COMPOSER | PRODUCER | MUSICIAN
I've been composing music since I was a child, winning the American College of Musicians Piano Composition Contest, the National Federation of Music Clubs Composition Festival, the Bain Murray Award for Composition, and earned my Bachelor of Music Composition from Cleveland State University.
I am truly passionate about the craft of composing for video games and film, and I've been lucky enough to work alongside some enthusiastic and motivated creators and help support their vision with original music. From my position as a Lead Composer and Music Producer at Smashing Graphics Game Studios and in my freelance work, my background as a versatile performer and classically-trained composer have given me great range in my writing.
As a modern composer and musician, I've worked hard to hone my production skills to better serve my craft. I worked in the audio department at Cleveland State and was responsible for setting up and running recording sessions with performers at the college and wrote, recorded and produced the album Maritime Laws by A Thousand Paper Cranes. I earned a Pro Tools Pro User Certification, and with that I've been able to work on numerous other projects like films, games, and others.
Since 2021, I've been contributing to Evergreen Podcasts as a Podcast Producer, Audio Engineer, Sound Designer, and more. Getting acclimated to a live media production department has only improved my attention to detail and experience, and I've been fortunate to win numerous awards across over 100 published podcast episodes in my time here.
My formative musical training began with piano from my grandmother, Marilyn Foutz (Boise State) and Sister Susan Clarke (Bowling Green). From 2010-2015, I was a National Piano Guild Audition Finalist and a National Federation of Music Clubs Winner. While earning my Bachelor of Music Composition at Cleveland State University, I had the pleasure of studying piano performance with the Grammy Award-Winning Dr. Angelin Chang and collaborative piano with the Cleveland Orchestra's Joela Jones.
I've also been performing as a bassist, guitarist, and vocalist for many years. I've performed original music as a member of A Thousand Paper Cranes, self-producing and publishing the albums Better Music Through Hypnosis in 2014 and Maritime Laws in 2017. As a member of the Queen cover Band Dynamite and the Lazerbeams, I was privileged to perform at the 2019 National Queen Fan Convention. I've also performed dozens of hours with various cover groups around the Cleveland area.
