Noah Foutz is a Cleveland-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whose path has been shaped between formal training and life on stage. From national recognition in classical piano to fronting regional bands and performing across the U.S., he has built a body of work shaped by range and reinvention. As a vocalist, bassist, guitarist, and self-producing artist, his music reflects both discipline and instinct. His upcoming EP The Ruins of Autumn brings that journey inward.

Beyond his own releases, Noah is a trusted collaborator for artists in Cleveland and beyond, contributing to projects like Sugardeer, Flipcoin, Thicarus, The Sweet Spot, and The Heavy Forgiveness.

Solo

The Ruins of Autumn is a labor of self-love and an exercise in familiarity; a collection written in the tension between who we were and who we’re becoming. While Noah’s solo work often leans into rich songwriting and the layered instincts of a composer, this EP is a deliberate departure. The arrangements are smaller, the space wider, the performances closer to the heart.

Film Work

As a part of my film compsition work, I've created numerous feature songs as a part of my scores. Here are a few of my favorites:

The Big Leagues

VIDEO

The Big Leagues is a Cleveland-based indie rock quartet built on years of experience in local bands and venues. They sound like if Dave Grohl was in Florence in the Machine - emotional, loud, and pretty fun. Noah Foutz serves as lead vocalist and primary songwriter, performing on guitar and bass.

A Thousand Paper Cranes

A Thousand Paper Cranes was Noah’s first real project. The group performed at venues including the House of Blues and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, building momentum through original material and live energy. Their second release, Maritime Laws, stands out as an ambitious, cohesive project, with rich arrangements and strong narrative vision - qualities Noah has taken into his solo work.

Full Bio

Noah Foutz began performing at an early age, studying piano under the guidance of his grandmother, Marilyn Foutz, before continuing formal training through middle and high school. Between 2010 and 2015, he was recognized nationally through the National Piano Guild and the National Federation of Music Clubs, earning multiple distinctions for his performance work. During these years, he began writing and performing original music, forming the band A Thousand Paper Cranes and stepping into his first sustained role as a songwriter and bandleader. In 2015, the group placed third in the High School Battle of the Bands, a moment that marked their transition from local rehearsals to larger public stages. The project went on to perform at venues including the House of Blues and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, independently releasing Better Music Through Hypnosis in 2014 and Maritime Laws in 2017. The second album expanded into richer arrangements and a broader conceptual framework, reflecting Noah’s growing ambition as both writer and arranger.

While pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Composition at Cleveland State University, Noah studied piano performance with Grammy Award-winning pianist Dr. Angelin Chang and jazz bass with Dr. Christopher Vance. During his college years, he received additional performance and composition awards and continued to refine his work across classical and contemporary contexts. His expanding musical scope eventually extended into audio production and scoring, contributing to projects recognized with honors including an Emmy Award for his work on CRESCENDO.

In 2019, he performed at the National Queen Fan Convention as a member of Dynamite and the Lazerbeams, demonstrating his versatility on a national stage. Throughout the 2020s, he has remained active in the Cleveland music community, fronting The Big Leagues and collaborating with various artists in varied genres. Across each chapter, his work has continued to move between live performance, songwriting, composition, and production, with each discipline reinforcing the others.
