Noah Foutz has been composing music since childhood, garnering several prestigious accolades such as winning the American College of Musicians Piano Composition Contest, the National Federation of Music Clubs Composition Festival, and the Bain Murray Award for Composition. He earned a Bachelor of Music Composition from Cleveland State University.
With a deep passion for composing for games and film, Noah has been fortunate to collaborate with enthusiastic and motivated creators, helping to support their visions with original music. As a Lead Composer and Music Producer at Smashing Graphics Game Studios, Noah's background as a versatile performer and classically-trained composer provided him with a broad range of writing abilities.
Currently, Noah is the CEO and Lead Composer of North Coast Scoring, an orchestral scoring and music production studio based in Cleveland, OH. His score for the film CRESCENDO earned him an Ohio Valley Regional Emmy in 2023.
As a modern composer and musician, Noah Foutz has worked diligently to refine his production skills to enhance his craft. He served in the audio department at Cleveland State University, where he was responsible for setting up and running recording sessions with collegiate orchestras and performers. During this time, he wrote, recorded, and produced the album Maritime Laws by A Thousand Paper Cranes. Noah earned a Pro Tools Pro User Certification, which has enabled him to contribute to numerous projects, including films, games, and other ventures.
Since 2021, Noah has been contributing to Evergreen Podcasts as a Senior Podcast Producer, Audio Engineer, Sound Designer, and more - earning several industry distinctions, and creating shows earning millions of monthly downloads. His immersion in live media production has significantly sharpened his attention to detail and expanded his experience. He has been fortunate to receive numerous awards across over 100 published podcast episodes during his tenure.
Noah's formative musical training began with piano instruction from his grandmother, Marilyn Foutz (Boise State), and Sister Susan Clarke (Bowling Green). From 2010 to 2015, he was recognized as a National Piano Guild Audition Finalist and a National Federation of Music Clubs Winner. While pursuing his Bachelor of Music Composition at Cleveland State University, Noah had the privilege of studying piano performance with the Grammy Award-Winning Dr. Angelin Chang and collaborative piano with Joela Jones of the Cleveland Orchestra.
In addition to his composition work, Noah has extensive experience as a bassist, guitarist, and vocalist. He studied jazz bass and performance with the esteemed Dr. Christopher Vance while at Cleveland State. He has performed original music as a member of A Thousand Paper Cranes, self-producing and publishing the albums Better Music Through Hypnosis in 2014 and Maritime Laws in 2017. As a member of the Queen cover band Dynamite and the Lazerbeams, he had the honor of performing at the 2019 National Queen Fan Convention.
Currently, Noah Foutz is the vocalist, bassist, guitarist, and lead songwriter for the band The Big Leagues, performing regularly in the Cleveland area. They released their self-titled EP in May of 2024.
