Podcasting Portfolio

Hello! Thanks for checking out my podcasting work.

Since starting at Evergreen Podcasts, I've worked on over a dozen productions in varying capacities, and on both ends of the creative process.

In 2021, I earned my Pro Tools Pro User Certification, which has empowered me to enhance every aspect of the shows I work on. Below are some of my favorite episodes from my top shows, but for a more exhaustive list, check out the 'Podcast' tab in the header. I've also created a few of the main music tracks for shows I've made over the years. With my background in Music Composition, I'm always excited to set the perfect tone for podcasts I work on with a custom track.

Let me know if you have any questions, thanks!

Disturbed

I've been working on this podcast as the Project Manager, Senior Producer, Music Composer & Designer, and Editor since January 2024. Since taking over, the show has already accumulated more than 3 million downloads, and is projected to hit 7 million by the end of the year.

West Wing Reports

I was the sole producer and engineer on this weekly news and politics show, hosted by White House Press Corps member Paul Brandus. I was responsible for weekly scripting, recording, producing, editing, and publishing with newsroom like turnaround. I also composed all the music for the show, including recording the string quartet in the opening/closing theme.

For our coverage of the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the podcast received the 2022 NYX Silver Award for politics, as well as a 2022 MUSE Award for Podcasting.

Riffs on Riffs

Riffs on Riffs (Podcast Awards nominee, 2021) is my favorite podcast that I've made. I was the project manager, script supervisor, recording engineer, editor, and music designer for the show, and had a strong hand in the content development for the season. A mini-series focusing on the band 24-Carat Black, a group that "everybody has heard, but nobody's heard of", I was also lucky enough to write 2 brand new, full length songs with former band members as a part of the season finale.

Additionally, I composed the theme music, and performed all of the instruments except the saxophone (Shoutout to Joe Kardos)

Disinformation

Disinformation was my second production with Paul Brandus, this time focusing on disinformation and misinformation in our modern political climate. Paul's access as a White House Press Corps member, and his extensive knowledge of U.S. political history, made for a unique and diverse perspective on this issue.

This episode was our first, and was a great encapsulation of the tone of the show. It was the Silver Winner at the MUSE Awards in 2022.

Black & White

Black & White was one of the first podcasts I worked on at Evergreen Podcasts, and was a very rewarding experience. Stephen Dorsey, a civil rights advocate and author based in Toronto, created the podcast to accompany his book of the same name. The goal of the show was to empower Black Canadian voices, to speak on issues of race and culture in North America, and to "hold everyone gently to account".

I spent a great amount of time helping host Stephen to craft his acumen as a podcaster and interviewer. The conversations on this pod, especially in the wake of George Floyd and the BLM protests of 2020, felt important and timely. This episode features retired Football player Orlando Bowen, who tells his personal story of police violence, and his road to forgiveness and dedication to activism. It's a great example of the powerful connections we made and conversations we shared in making this show.

I was also really happy with the music I wrote and performed for this show - I think it sets the perfect tone, and calls back to the Blues and R&B protest music of the '60s.

Living for we (ideastream/npr)

Living For We, by Ideastream Public Media and NPR, is one of my favorite podcasts to have been associated with. This show seeks to elevate the voices and experiences of Black women in Cleveland, highlighting the published study that showed Cleveland was the worst city in America for women of color. In 2024, Living for We won the Webby award for People's Voice, and I couldn't think of a more appropriate accolade for this groundbreaking show.

I was able to contribute as an audio engineer, recording engineer, and a fill producer for the first 2 episodes of season 1.

Novel Conversations

The final show I wanted to highlight is Novel Conversations - its one of the oldest podcasts ever, having started in 1999 as a local radio program. It's won multiple awards over the years, including peaking in the top 15 podcasts in the "Literature" category on Apple Podcasts.

The podcast synthesizes famous works of literature in a clear and conversational (wink) way, and I had to learn on the fly how to script 40+ minutes of interesting, informational dialogue between multiple voice actors - all while maintaining the narrative tone.

This is the script I was most proud of - "It Can't Happen Here" is a novel I feel is under-appreciated, and is getting more and more topical in our modern political climate

Thanks again!

If you made it this far, I really appreciate it! I put as much effort into making these podcasts as you've put into discovering them, and for that I'm grateful. If there's anything else you're hoping to see/hear from me, let me know!

Thanks,

Noah
